Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Corley Academy, and thank you for visiting our website.

Corley Academy is a secondary school for students with complex communication and interaction difficulties. Many of our students have a diagnosis of autism and their academic abilities span the full National Curriculum and GCSE/vocational range.

We are proud to have been awarded Autism Accreditation by the National Autistic Society and trust that this reflects our high standards of autism education and how central this is to our provision.

Located on the outskirts of Coventry, and welcomes students from across the city, with a small number from Warwickshire and Solihull. The school is situated in green, open space, surrounded by trees. It is a calm and welcoming environment, where the sense of community is strong and students feel safe. Visitors frequently comment on the courtesy shown to them by our students and of their pride in their school.

We aim to create a supportive learning environment, based on autism education best practice, where each student can reach his or her full academic and personal potential. We aim to develop self-confident, independent and motivated learners who strive to reach aspirational goals. We strive to make our students the central focus of all we do.

Ofsted inspected us in November 2017 and judged the school to be Good and Improving.

The safeguarding of our students is paramount and Ofsted found our policies and practice to be ‘highly effective’. We strive to maintain this standard and are constantly reviewing our day to day procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our young people.

Prospective parents are always welcome, and tours and informal visits can be arranged by contacting the school office. We understand that young people also need to view the school prior to those all important decisions about school placement being made, however, in the interests of our own students, these visits may only take place at the end of the school day. As soon as Corley Academy is named on a young person’s Education Health and Care Plan, we will arrange for them to visit during the school day.

Do have a browse through our website; I hope you are interested by what you find.

Should you require any additional information, please call our school office.
