Information from Coventry Schools Policing Team

Please see the message below from the police which we have been asked to share.

14th February 2025

Police Message:

As it is coming up to the half term break we are aware the City Centre gets busier and pupils will hang around to meet up with their friends, go for something to eat and some shopping.

As with all half term and end of term you will see extra officers in the area.

However WMP have been made aware of planned ASB in the City Centre on Friday 14th Feb and as a result a S34 Dispersal Order has been authorised by the duty Inspector.

This dispersal order will enable officers to direct anyone to leave the areas and not return for up to 48 hours if they are seen to be on the periphery or involved in any ASB.

The notice runs from 11am on Friday 14th Feb  until 11am Sunday 16th Feb.  This is inclusive of Friday and Saturday.  The area is defined by the ring road to cover City Centre, as well as Swanswell Park and City College.

We are asking parents and young people to encourage swift boarding of buses at transport networks and bus stops and avoid hanging around at the risk of getting involved or associated with any issues.

For the safety and comfort of everyone in the City over the weekend you will see a significant increase in the number of officers on patrol engaging with young people and reassuring those who are waiting for buses and onward travel.

We want everyone to have a safe and pleasant last day of school and to feel safe in their journey.

Many Thanks

Coventry Schools Policing Team
