Golf scheme launches in Coventry to help disabled children get into the sport
The scheme will involve students from Baginton Fields Academy and Corley Academy.
We are one of the first schools to be involved in a new pioneering golf project that aims to increase the participation, and access to golf, for those with disabilities.
Partnering with the European Disability Golf Association, we had Johnny Reay Jnr (Disability PGA Pro) and Leah Roelich (LPGA pro) come in and deliver Golf CPD and lessons yesterday.
As the article explains, we will now have further weeks of lessons through this project and will be taking some of our students to experience golf at Stoneleigh golf course.
Through the support of this project, we are now able to add golf to our curriculum in a more suitable format for our learners, and can tailor sessions to all our learners' needs, including our new life skills groups.
Johnny was really keen to work with our school, and we hope to be able to roll out the projects to reach more of our classes too.
